As a classroom teacher, primary advisor and INSET provider, Liz's career has
focussed on devising practical and accessible strategies for the teaching of
language and literacy. Her wealth of experience and commitment to raising
standards of both teaching and learning has inspired a generation of educators
to develop their own skills as effective teachers of literacy.
At the core of all her programme planning is the recognition that the teaching
and learning of literacy should be immersed in meaningful and purposeful
contexts which make the learning experience relevant, memorable and fun.
Liz has taught in the Foundation Stage, across KS1 and KS2 and has worked
on visual literacy projects in the secondary sector. As well as providing courses
for students, teachers, librarians and teaching assistants, she also continues
to develop a range of courses for family learning groups, particularly those
with English as an additional language.
Liz has devised a comprehensive range of courses which support teachers
in the development of their role as classroom teacher or subject leader.
Her courses are practical, refreshing and readily adaptable for all settings.
Whatever the size of the group, or working one to one in the classroom, Liz
welcomes the opportunity to share her ideas and expertise in a lively and
supportive atmosphere.
