RAISING STANDARDS THROUGH EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITH PARENTS A COURSE FOR TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING STAFF
This one day course is suitable for teaching and non-teaching
staff in the primary school who are responsible for developing
partnerships with parents. The course will include:
- developing a shared understanding of what parental involvement can look like
- an audit to support a detailed review of current practice in your setting
- consideration of research and its impact on the ways in which
we involve parents in the school community
- developing inclusive practice for working with parents who
speak English as an additional language, including refugees
- overcoming barriers
- practical workshops to use with parents

FROM BEGINNING TO END A COURSE FOR EARLY YEARS AND PRIMARY PRACTITIONERS
This well-paced one day course follows the potential life cycle of
a piece of writing from its conception to its publication. It is
designed to support teachers who want to develop a purposeful
approach to writing from start to finish. It will include:
- an overview of relevant research and theory, underpinning good practice
- key aspects of the writing process
- establishing key writing routines such as; shared writing, writers' workshops, etc.
- getting started-practical ideas to initiate the writing process
- oral rehearsals for writing through e.g. story-boxes and imaginative role play
- developing a sense of audience
- understanding and supporting the developmental stages of writing
- handwriting and presentation
- bookmaking
- IT
- publication
